Acquisition unites world-class borehole imaging tools with advanced subsurface intelligence platforms.
Luxembourg, 29 November 2025 – Advanced Logic Technology (ALT), a Luxembourg-based pioneer in high-tech geophysical instruments and software, has officially entered a binding agreement to be acquired by Australia’s mining technology leader, Imdex Ltd. The strategic €75.8 million deal marks a major boost for Luxembourg’s growing technology ecosystem and reinforces its long-standing industrial heritage in mining and steel innovation.
Under the agreement, Imdex will acquire 100% of ALT’s shares, including ownership of its U.S. subsidiary Mount Sopris Instruments (MSI), a respected manufacturer of borehole geophysical tools headquartered in Denver, Colorado. The acquisition includes an upfront payment of €55.8 million, with an additional €20 million tied to performance milestones.
ALT, founded more than 30 years ago, has built a strong global reputation for precision, reliability, and advanced solutions in borehole imaging and downhole measurements. Its systems are widely used in mining exploration, geotechnical studies, water resource investigations, and energy projects.
Founder Jean-Luc Deltombe called the acquisition a milestone moment.
“For over 30 years, ALT has delivered precision, reliability, and innovation in borehole imaging and downhole measurement,” he said. “Imdex’s acquisition is a proud moment for me, my fellow shareholder Annick Henriette, our management, and our staff.”
ALT currently employs 50 people, 22 in Luxembourg and 28 at Mount Sopris Instruments in Denver. Both Deltombe and Henriette have stepped back from daily operations, paving the way for this transition.
For Imdex, integrating ALT’s portfolio is a strategic move to merge ALT’s advanced logging instruments and software with Imdex’s subsurface intelligence platform. Together, the
Companies aim to offer what they describe as the most advanced and complete solution for global exploration, drilling, and resource development.
The acquisition also highlights Luxembourg’s growing role as a European hub for high-tech industrial innovation, leveraging its strong foundations in geology, steelmaking, and engineering.
